The results clearly indicated that the proportions of analyzed major cations increase from the east to the west of the Quaternary aquifer of Al Jaww Plain toward Jabel Haﬁt (Fig. 8). The increasing percentage of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) westwards is due to the fact that the positions of the wells are close to Jabal Haﬁt which mainly consists of calcite and dolomite (CaMg(CO3 )).
